Our Veterinarians

Dr. Nathan Gimbal
Veterinarian, Owner
Dr. Gimbal was born on a U.S. Army post in Vicenza, Italy, and was raised just outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. From a young age, he had a passion for animals and was always interested in science and how things worked. He is now a full-time Veterinarian, Business Manager, and the Owner of Ocean Breeze Animal Hospital!

Dr. Gimbal worked at a vet’s office during his undergraduate studies, where he learned to care for the clients as much as the animal patients. He then went to American University in the Caribbean to receive his DVM, and finished his clinical requirements at the University of Pennsylvania. He moved to Jensen Beach with his wife to be closer to her family.

As a veterinarian, Dr. Gimbal enjoys dermatology because of its complexity, and dentistry because it helps pets live a good long life. He also loves helping pets stay healthy and getting clients through the tough times.

At home, Dr. Gimbal lives with his wife—also a veterinarian and owner of a neighboring animal hospital—and their three daughters. They have two dogs and three cats. When time permits between his work and family life, Dr. Gimbal likes golfing, jogging, and going to the gym. He’s slowly learning Spanish and also finds economics and coin collecting quite interesting.
Dr. Janna Legg
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Janna Legg spent much of her childhood around dairy cattle and show steers while growing up in Palm City, Florida—her family owned and operated a dairy farm, and she was active in the 4-H and the Future Farmers of America organizations for many years. Ever since she was a little girl, Dr. Legg knew that she wanted to do her part to better the lives of animals. Veterinary medicine was the obvious choice! She’s proud to now serve as an Associate Veterinarian here at Ocean Breeze Animal Hospital.

Dr. Legg attended the University of Florida for her undergraduate studies in animal science, also pursuing a specialty track in animal biology at the same time. After graduation, she took a job with a small-animal clinic in Gainesville, where she gained invaluable experience and was fortunate to receive expert mentorship that serves her well to this day. Next, Dr. Legg enrolled in the University of Florida’s College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in the spring of 2016 with her Doctorate and a certification in food animal medicine.

Dr. Legg relocated to San Marcos, Texas after her collegiate career, practicing on dogs, cats, and farm animals at a mixed-animal clinic there for two years, before returning to Florida in the summer of 2018 and joining the Ocean Breeze Animal Hospital family shortly afterward. She is a member of the Florida Veterinary Medical Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Christian Veterinary Mission, and the Treasure Coast Veterinary Medical Association.

When she isn’t helping pets and owners live better lives here at the hospital, Dr. Legg enjoys cheering on her favorite Florida Gators sports teams, getting lost in a good book, tending to her plants, making crafts for her Etsy shop, and spending quality time with family, friends, and her own pets at home. She shares her life with two wonderful Black Lab mixes: Brooks, who served as Dr. Legg’s stress-reliever during her veterinary school years, and the goofy Briggs, who joined Dr. Legg’s family during her time in Texas.

Dr Legg & her vet tech did a fantastic job handling my 90 lb. lab who can really be difficult. Service at the front desk is also superb. Dr. Graves would be happy to know how well you're taking care of his patients.

I feel so fortunate to find this hospital for my little dog Precious. Dr. Paulsen was not only competent with her diagnoses but a caring & compassionate person. Furthermore, she put my dog's need before financial gains which speaks highly of her integrity. She could have treated my dog for cancer but steered me to the Animal Cancer Clinic where she thought would be more economical for me. Yet she was the full backup whenever we needed her. When dealing with your beloved sick pet, you can be assured they will be in good hands from the doctors & the staff of this establishment.

I recently moved to the area and from our long driving trip, my older Lab was having tummy issues. I contacted Ocean Breeze and they got me in the same day. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. My dog felt comfortable as well. He is now on the mends, and I will be using Ocean Breeze as my new vet for both of my dogs. I am glad to have found them😃

Dr. Gimbal saw our dog, Lady Bird, today and was so thorough and helpful. He treated us and her with care and patience, more so than any other vets we've seen. He loves what he does and that was very evident. Thank you so much!

I have only been to their offices once recently and we had to sadly say goodbye to my beloved boy, Jack. The entire staff is so warm and sincere in their care. It meant so much to me that they made Jack comfortable and didn’t rush us at all with our goodbyes. They truly understood how hard it was for our family to lose a loved one. I will 100% be back for the continuous care of our other dog, Lucy. I am truly grateful for all of their kindness.
